KUTSARI

¿What is KUTSARI?

Kutsari is a national initiative of the Federal Government, coordinated by the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation (Secihti), focused on consolidating the integrated circuit (chip) design ecosystem in Mexico.

The name “Kutsari” comes from the Purépecha language and means “sand,” alluding to silicon as the basis for the design and manufacture of integrated circuits (chips). This initiative promotes collaboration between academia, industry, and government for the creation and operation of Design Centers, the development of ASIC-type projects, connections with manufacturing processes, and the training of specialized talent.

Who are we?

Kutsari is the National Semiconductor Design Center in Mexico, made up of a group of designers with more than 20 years of experience, from the industrial and academic fields, under the coordination of InnovaBienestar de México.

Our overall goal is to strengthen technological sovereignty and the semiconductor supply chain in Mexico through the design of analog, mixed-mode, radio frequency (RF), and digital integrated circuits, focusing on the medical, automotive, and appliance sectors. We promote co-creation with industry for the design of integrated circuits and customized technological solutions.

In addition, Kutsari fosters national talent through a specialized, hands-on training program in semiconductor design and manufacturing. We operate nationwide with offices in Puebla, Jalisco, and Sonora.
